This week we talked abotu giving and how Jesus was teh ultimate gift to us. We made coupon books to give to our parents as a way to show the children that giving doesnt have to come in the form of money. thanks to all my helpers!

on Sunday....

we learned to pray passionately! we made a class prayer chain where the kiddos got to write or draw a prayer on a strip of paper and then we combined them all onto one chain and hung them on our bulletin board. We made prayer bracelets and strung a bead to a piece on yarn and tied to their wrists to remind them to pray every day this week.

Last sunday we talked about reading our bibles every day. i sent home a few suggestions of how to read the bible with your children. i also sent home a bible reading chart for each day of the week, so the children could read their bibles and then draw a pictures of what they had learned. only one child from both services completed the tast, even with a week of snow! lol so please be sure to read with your child every day and together we can teach them the importance of that.

Last week..

This Sunday....

we learned about missions and spreading God's word. We sang songs about discipleship, apostles, and following jesus. We read to books about how the kids can tell their friends about God by sitting by lonely kids at lunch, inviting them to church, sharing with them all the things God has made, etc. We talked about being called to be fishers of men, and we made boats!

Last Sunday....

kids praise was NOT cancelled, and we had a blast with the few kids that showed up~! We read about the birth of Jesus and talked about the sacrifice God made turning into flesh and coming down to earth to ultimately forgive us of our sins and die on the cross. We sang songs and talked about our wonderful Christmases we had. We used black paper as our night sky and put glitter on yellow stars and drew the three wisemen on three punched out camels. All the kids got to pick out christmas pencils and straws before leaving. PLEASE REMEMBER, KIDS PRAISE IS NOT CANCELLED ON JANUARY 2ND EITHER. thanks everyone!

This Sunday....

We learned about God coming to earth in human form as baby Jesus! Last week we learned about the angel Gabriel telling Mary she would be the mother of Jesus. We read a story about the birth. We read a book and talked about how we can be like Jesus to others and show Jesus to our friends. Faith, Gracie, Cooper M, and Jake all got to retell the story using the sticky board. Then we had snacks and colored a picture of joseph, mary, and jesus, and got to take home baby jesus "haystacks" and the recipe to make more of them with our parents! (chow mein, peanut butter, chocolate, and a marshmallow).
